NAIS, Codex Alimentarius, Bill S510 and Other Bedtime Stories to Guarantee Nightmares

“Historically, outbreaks of disease occur in close population, improperly nourished animals. Farmer John who has 15 head of cattle and 160 acres of pasture does not face the same challenges as Mr. Beef, who has crammed 5,000 cows into a feedlot the size of a Wal-mart parking lot, where calves play on hills of cow patties and drink milk produced from the ingestion of soybean and corn meal (when cows have evolved to do just fine, thank you very much, on grass.)”

Thanks to my good friends on Facebook, I was alerted that the ugly head of the government is once again poking its’ large and obnoxious nose into places it doesn’t belong. Yes, I realize this is a inflammatory statement, hence, my writing here, instead of posting this as a comment at the http://www.opencongress.org website. (which, if you’d like, you can visit and look at the hoopla going on over various bills.)

So, let’s take a look at each of these and try to make sense of them. More

Congress! Read the Bills!!

Please construct your own letter:  Petition letters no matter how many received are counted as “one”.

Do you know what Congress does when it’s in session? to find out:

The video shows just a few of the silly and pointless resolutions Congress wastes time on, instead of doing what it’s supposed to do.

* Congress missed its April 15 deadline to pass a budget
* And has the audacity to tell us it doesn’t have time to read the bills!

Please tell Congress to re-arrange its priorities and pass the Read the Bills Act.

You may borrow from or copy this letter . . .

You say you don’t have time to read the bills. But it’s funny what Congress DOES have time for. This year, the House found time to . . . More

Some Voters Should Be More Equal Because They Are Perceived As Unequal?

Something interesting has developed in a sleepy little suburb of New York City. Apparently the concept of “One Person. One Vote” has disenfranchised a minority population. Said minority has been unable to elect one of their “own” into a 13 panel Board of Trustee position. Therefore, a brilliant concept was proposed “Every one shall have 6 votes to cast among the 13 candidates.”

The court-imposed election was held after a federal judge ruled that Port Chester’s conventional at-large trustee elections violated the Voting Rights Act. Although the village of about 30,000 residents is nearly half Hispanic, no Latino had ever been elected to any of the six trustee seats. Most voters were white, and white candidates always won. More

Neo-cons love war and torture, increased  regulations, tyranny, and taxes; with our taxes going to the plutocrats of the private banking community. They support governmental destruction of our environment, under the pretense of protecting it. They, also, overtly support corporatism (facism for oligarchs) and any other measures supported by the republican party that enrich the private International Monetary/Banking Cartel at the expense of the American people.

Neo-libs love war and torture, increased regulations, tyranny, and taxes; with our taxes going to the plutocrats of the private banking community. They support governmental destruction of our environment, under the pretense of protecting it. They, also, covertly support corporatism (socialism for oligarchs) and any other measures supported by the democratic party that enrich the private International Monetary/Banking Cartel at the expense of the American people.

The National Prayer Network’s Ted Pike  painfully reminds us that the American “evangelical” community is once again supporting the crimes of the Zionist State of Israel against decent humanity.  Ted joins my old friends, Chuck Carlson of We Hold These Truths,  and Dale Crowley, as one of the few Protestant evangelicals of national prominence who recognizes that murder and terror undergirded by an ideological agenda of Jewish racial supremacism, is antithetical to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.  The terroristic strike on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla is just the latest example of this demonic alliance, but it isn’t the last.  The endgame is a preemptive Israeli attack on Iran.

The Pike essay, “Right Swallows Israel’s Flotilla Lies,” is a part of a wider cancerous condition I wrote about for Covenant News 5 years ago, before leaving Philadelphia for a return to south Texas.  The title of the piece was “Does the American Evangelical Church Have Terminal Cancer?“  It posited the idea as an interrogative, implying that perhaps the jury was still out on this movement, and the wider American Republic itself.

What I wrote 5 years ago seems as fresh as it did then.  I hope you will read it again, or for the very first time. There has been only one change in my thinking in this last half-decade.

I no longer believe that the jury is out.  The American “Church” and the Old Republic are dead.  It is all overRead More

The Worst Oil Spill in U.S. History, and It’s Still Business As Usual?

Secretary Salazar Needs to Close Atlantis Today, or Get Out of the Way!
“Salazar is basically rearranging the chairs on the deck of the Titanic.”

Former Interior Secretary Bruce Babbit said this of U.S. Interior Secretary Salazar today, and we’ve found it to be true. The first official response to Food & Water Watch’s request for a federal court order to shut down BP’s Atlantis oil rig has shown little has changed under Salazar’s leadership. Tell President Obama that Salazar should either close Atlantis today, or get out of the way.

We notified the Minerals Management Service over a year ago that BP Atlantis was missing 89 percent of its necessary safety documents. Even though missing documents are at the heart of many BP disasters, including the current one, MMS still refuses to close Atlantis until it can be proven safe. In an official response last week, the agency even admitted that they have done no meaningful investigation and even though we’re facing the worst oil spill in U.S. history, MMS continues to issue permits to BP for deepwater oil drilling.

The inability to close a rig that is operating without any evidence of safety, especially in light of the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe, makes us think that Secretary Salazar is serving oil interests, not the public interest. It seems to be business as usual under his leadership, despite heavy-handed rhetoric to the contrary.

President Obama should demand his resignation and find someone who will regulate the oil industry-starting with shutting down BP Atlantis until it is proven safe.

BP oil spill planet killer

By Michael Webster: Syndicated Investigative reporter. June 15, 2010, at 3:30 PM PDT

Millions of listeners heard on the popular Coast to Coast Am radio show recently that the BP oil spill is a planet killer. Talk show host Ian Punnett welcomed two guests, Jim Bell during the second hour and Minister Lindsey Williams in the 3rd hour, for a discussion on the Gulf oil crisis as well as alternative energy.

In the second hour, Minister Lindsey Williams, who once served as a chaplain for the oil companies operating in Alaska, shared what he claimed to be the “real story” behind the Gulf oil crisis. He explained that, in the 1970’s, Russia drilled over 40,000 feet into the ground and discovered abiotic oil, i.e. oil which replenishes itself via an as-yet-unknown natural chemical process. The off-shore drilling done by BP in the Gulf of Mexico, Williams said, was their attempt to create a similar super-deep well and access this same abiotic oil. However, according to his sources, BP insiders and U.S. Government officials the pressure from this pocket of abiotic oil in the Gulf was so great that it burst all the safety valves on the floating platform.   More
