Recently a friend sent me an article about a Wisconsin politician who was apparently unaware of the location of the great state of Arizona. After considering what this really meant (instead of taking for granted that the apparently this individual is willing like the majority of politicians to jump on whatever hot topic political bandwagon happens by), I wondered how one could not be aware of the fact that Arizona does share a border with Mexico and does have a small immigration issue with undocumented illegal non-certified “people of Geographically challenged birth events”.

In all fairness, Wisconsin only spends on average $12,000 per student in public education with yearly rates ranging from $8,000 to $19,000 per school district. The average teachers salary is only  $47,000 (those 100K Principal salaries really pull that average up) and they still manage to rank  2nd in the Nation on SAT scores.

It is indeed a sad day when little girls grow up to lack knowledge of basic Geography and the ability to apply facts to everyday situations. It’s not fair of all the rest of the Nation to laugh at her gaffe, we should be trying to fill in her missing knowledge base – after all – that’s only fair.

So here is what we might do to help this young lady. First note in the below parody of “Yes, Virgina, there is a Santa Claus”, an address where she can/ may receive mail/email:

We can then send her this “quick reference link” showing where all the states are located and what countries they might or might not share a border with. (But look carefully at the map because Alaska is shown South of Arizona and we don’t want her getting confused, so please ensure you clarify that for her.)

And then you might share this little poem with her:

Dear County Board Members,

Some of my little politically correct friends say that because there is no Federal Immigration Reform the mean ol’ state of Arizona is being unfair to all those people who are here, or want to be here, illegally. The President says if you see it on PPJ, it is controversial, but most likely true and worthy of censorship. Please tell me the truth; is there no Federal Immigration Reform?

Dear Peggy,

Your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the bi-partisan misleading of the American Public by politicians. They do not believe except [what] they see. It is difficult to explain, but as more 2000 page legislations are written the less is accomplished for the American People. Their minds are flooded daily with distractions that are intended to confuse and confound reality. Historically in this great nation of ours, States no longer have the resolution to stand up to the injustices committed by the Federal Government because they will then lose the economic benefits from The Powers That Be on which they have become dependant upon.

Yes, Peggy, there is Immigration Reform. While it is currently un-enforced by the Federal Government, it exists in Arizona, which had the intestinal fortitude to stand up for what was best for her own citizens. Alas! How controversial the issue has become. Boycotts, name calling, racial slurs and untruths. No wonder you have doubts as to what is the truth!

Not believe in Borders! Peggy, there is a border by a little state named Arizona designed to protect this great Nation and all she stands for. How weary would that state be if anyone were allowed to enter and access any service they so chose without actually contributing to Her. Why to not believe in the border would to ignore the simple fact that “Good Fences Make Good Neighbors”!  That would be like believing little Peggy’s could not sway the local Board Members that mean ol’ Arizona is so icky. The rights of Americans might be crushed under the weight of a swarm of individuals who could care less about Arizona and more about their true nation(s).

We may tear apart the Health Care bill and see the ugly mess contained within, but there is a truth to Federal Immigration Reform that has never and will probably never be addressed. How could a Politician with no experience, backbone or seeming logical common sense be elected without the Minority vote? Only by directing his Cabinet Members to sue the very state that is attempting to do the impossible.

In closing, while I admire your innocence and naivety, please consult a map in the future before opening your mouth to spew the party line.
