Medicare Advantage: Only an advantage for those glorious “stakeholders”

“It isn’t the patients who are bankrupting Medicare….its the service providers on all levels. If the states and insurance companies need to “recapture” their expenses…why not start with those who are gaming the system?”

According to the US Census Bureau, annual home ownership rates between 1982 and 2017 shows the population of those 65 or older represented just over 80% of all homes owned. This statistic has made the elderly prime targets for estate theft by predatory guardians and attorneys, and now under Medicare Advantage, the state/insurance companies can attack the estate because for some reason they have to be able to recapture the costs of long term care that you financed to begin with.

Now, ask yourself why, after investing in Social Security and Medicare over your lifetime, and….having to pay in most cases exorbitant premiums each and every month once you retire, along with co-pays, deductibles and a host of non-covered services, what you could possibly owe to the state or the insurance company?

But under Medicare Advantage, the combining of Medicare and Medicaid, after you having invested a portion of your earnings over your working lifetime, paid premiums, co-pays, deductibles and paid taxes to support these healthcare programs, these “stakeholders”, the [state/insurance company] must recapture the costs associated with long term care you might have needed, once you pass away.

Now think about this. You worked all your life and invested in Social Security and Medicare. You paid income tax every year which helped pay for medical care for the poor called Medicaid. You bought your home and have been assessed property taxes every year just for doing so, and continue to pay property taxes while you remain there, and long after the mortgage has been paid off. If you hadn’t paid those property taxes they would have already taken your property from you!

Currently, the bills in each state covering this “recapture”, prohibit the state from seizing property if there is a surviving spouse living in or on the property. But once the surviving spouse dies or are themselves put into long term care, the state/insurance company can attack the estate in order to recover those costs. Even if there is joint tenancy or co-ownership of property by those who are not otherwise responsible for, or legally bound to the deceased, the state/insurance company has first rights to the assets. And this recapture takes place before any inheritance can be received by the beneficiaries of the estate. Of course there is no intention of anything to remain for heirs.

The giant multinational mining corporations Vale, BHP Billiton and Samarco (that have extensive operations in Brazil) have again demonstrated to the world why they can’t be trusted, for just yesterday (January 25, 2019) they have perpetrated another environmental catastrophe.

Read on and understand that similar disasters could (and probably will) happen downstream from the PolyMet/NorthMet/Glencore sulfuric acid-producing copper mine whose tailings pond dam is scheduled to rise to an eventually unstable height of 250 feet !!

Far more communities than the dozen towns named above could be devastated irreparably, despite what the starry-eyed and bamboozled (and/or paid off by political contributions) politicians like Senator Klobuchar, Senator Smith, US House member Stauber, ex-US House member Nolan, and practically every politician from either major political party that one can think of. An essentially pointless video of a white Catholic teen wearing a MAGA hat staring at a Native American veteran—who approached him—was at the forefront of every major news outlet this week. The video did not show a crime or government corruption, yet it was able to draw a line through this country on a massive scale. The video is being used by both sides of the political spectrum to paint the other side as monsters. Regardless of which “side” you take, however, the society as a whole will still lose.

The video only affected two people, Nick Sandmann and Nathan Phillip, yet the entire country—quite literally at the direction of mainstream media—allowed it to affect them. The media is getting so good a cutting the country in half on random issues that there is actually a term for it. Videos and instances like this are called a “scissor.”

As Ross Douthat recently pointed out, in a short story published last October, “Sort by Controversial,” Scott Alexander imagines a Silicon Valley company that accidentally comes up with an algorithm to generate what it calls a “Scissor.” The scissor is a statement, an idea or a scenario that’s somehow perfectly calibrated to tear people apart — not just by generating disagreement, but by generating total incredulity that somebody could possibly disagree with your interpretation of the controversy, followed by escalating fury and paranoia and polarization, until the debate seems like a completely existential, win-or-perish fight.

This win or perish fight has become the go to reaction for nearly every news story. Instead of critical thought on news articles, people simply build their defenses and prepare for war—actual truth be damned.

“OMG, the MAGA hat is literally a swastika! It represents everything wrong with society!” Or, “those stupid libtards are trying to ruin this country by preventing Trump from building that wall!” Meanwhile, both sides are missing the point. Their ridiculous infighting is keeping them distracted from actual issues that affect their lives.

New analysis reveals that we have much less water in our aquifers than we previously thought — and the oil and gas industry could put that at even greater risk.

We’re living beyond our means when it comes to groundwater. That’s probably not news to everyone, but new research suggests that, deep underground in a number of key aquifers in some parts of the United States, we may have much less water than previously thought.

“We found that the average depth of water resources across the country was about half of what people had previously estimated,” says Jennifer McIntosh, a distinguished scholar and professor of hydrology and atmospheric sciences at the University of Arizona.

McIntosh and her colleagues — who published a new study about these aquifers in November in Environmental Research Letters — took a different approach to assessing groundwater than other research, which has used satellites to measure changes in groundwater storage. For example, a 2015 study looked at 37 major aquifers across the world and found some were being depleted faster than they were being replenished, including in California’s agriculturally intensive Central Valley.

McIntosh says those previous studies revealed a lot about how we’re depleting water resources from the top down through extraction, such as pumping for agriculture and water supplies, especially in places like California.

But McIntosh and three other researchers wanted to look at groundwater from a different perspective: They examined how we’re using water resources from the bottom up.

In most states, if a son, a daughter, or a caretaker:

locks Mom up in her bedroom, blocks her access to the telephone, withholds her personal mail, and refuses to allow her to see her friends and members of her family, that’s a crime, and the perpetrator(s) may be criminally charged, tried, and convicted of elder abuse. But, if Mom is under guardianship, and her guardian forces her into a nursing home against her will and the will of her family, denies Mom a phone, and isolates her from her friends, family, and loved ones, that’s considered “care.”

Guardians currently have the power to isolate the very people whose lives they are supposed to be caring for and protecting. They can do this without the knowledge of the court and without having to justify their actions. In fact, isolation provides an effective and commonly used weapon to wield against any family member who complains about a guardian or the guardian’s decisions.

When a professional or private guardian abuses a person under his or her control, defining it as “protection,” that guardian is immune or quasi-immune from prosecution.

Much to their credit, every member of both the Rhode Island Senate and House of Representatives voted yea to the NASGA~Falk Coalition bill criminalizing wrongful isolation and expanding the definition of “caretaker” to include court-appointed guardians and conservators as well as attorney-in-fact.  This was an absolutely huge step forward in the protection of Rhode Island’s current and future senior population, which is the 11th highest in the country at 16.8 % of their total population.

The bill then went to the desk of Governor Gina M. Raimondo, who after some tweeting in her ear by some of her favored “special interest” birdies, chose to veto the bill.

It is important to note that none of the NY Times editorial board members are either physicians or scientists. Therefore, none of them could have had any expertise in the true (non-corporate-influenced) science or true (non-corporate-influenced) history of vaccinology. The board member’s opinions therefore are similar to what the heavily-propagandized public has repeatedly heard from 1) Big Pharma; 2) Big Pharma’s wholly-owned subsidiaries, the CDC and the FDA; 3) Big Media (whose biased corporate advertisers are largely uber-wealthy pharmaceutical companies); 4) Big Pharma’s shareholders (who are benefitting from the vaccine industry’s soaring stock prices and dividends); and 5) Big Medicine (whose physicians and increasingly monopolistic clinics and hospitals profit enormously from more and more known-to-be-neurotoxic infant vaccines – which are now so numerous that they have to be injected into the tiny muscles of tiny infants in cocktail combinations that have never been tested for safety even in guinea pig labs!).

Building a wall between borders may or may not be an important undertaking depending upon the location of the countries that are next to each other and whether the people living on both sides of the border can coexist peacefully.  But when drugs, gangs, unrest, murder, sex trafficking, guns and explosives exist there is a huge problem. Also there may be a treasonous element or a political agenda connected to the desired concept of an open border.  Furthermore, there may be an advantage to certain political parties with regard to the election process to where certain undesirable groups of immigrants or refugee settlements will be more apt to vote for a candidate which suits their own needs such as housing, a welfare paycheck and an EBT card.  

 There never was a wall needed between the United States and Canada and this is an example of how two countries that are nearly on the same page can peacefully coexist.  But that doesn’t always happen when two cultures collide when serious circumstances prevent a smooth multicultural transition and blending.

 However, a good many persons from various nations that are crossing the northern U.S./Mexico border are not interested in coexisting, while seeking to keep their native language, nor do they seek to assimilate to the degree of being part of various aspects of the American culture.  Some may enter into the workforce while others contribute nothing to society, all the while, many are freeloading and collecting handouts at the expense of the taxpayers which are already buried in debt, high taxes, fees, and fines.  To make matters worse, trillions in deficits will need to be paid by our grandchildren and great grandchildren.  There is a word for this.  It is called being ripped off!

The letter below is about what the CDC and many state Departments of Health (plus mainstream media outlets that take advertising [hush”] money from Big Pharma/Big Vaccine [plus every medical trade group such as the AAP and AMA]) has been calling “mysterious” outbreaks (ie, of unknown cause) of acute flaccid myelitis (AFM) among highly vaccinated-age-age pediatric patients. The letter was published in a recent issue of the British Medical Journal (in the “Rapid Response” section).

The author of the letter receives my periodic Duty to Warn columns, and he was kind enough to forward me the BMJ-published letter. We should be proud of him for writing it and also happy that the BMJ actually printed it. I suspect that most major US medical journals would refuse to publish such important information.

Perhaps some of the vaccine/Big Pharma-skeptic group receiving this forward could consider raising this important issue in the mainstream media and also challenge mainstream medical journals before the flood of misinformation about AFM falsely establishes in physician’s and people’s minds that intramuscular injections of neurotoxic ingredients in vaccines has nothing to do with the outbreaks. It should be mandatory for every physician or nurse even peripherally involved in AFM cases to document vaccination history, especially the history of pre-school vaccinations and fall influenza vaccinations. Direct Order | Soldiers Ordered to Take Anthrax Vax That Caused Brain Damage

DIRECT ORDER” An Award-Winning Documentary Tells the Story of Members of the Military who were Ordered Against their Will to Take the Controversial Anthrax Vaccine.

Federal regulators approved a plan by biotechnology company, VaxGen to test its experimental anthrax vaccine on about 100 people.

The human volunteers were injected with the experimental vaccine to see if it’s safe and produces the desired immune response.

VaxGen was awarded a $13.6 million federal contract to begin work on the anthrax vaccine. The company is applied for two more anthrax vaccine contracts. The contracts were awarded for advanced testing and manufacturing of 25 million doses.

In the last few years, a number of published studies have linked anthrax vaccination to the development of Gulf War Syndrome, among them a study in the British medical journal the Lancet. Hundreds of soldiers have refused the shots after evidence emerged that the vaccinations are connected to a variety of illnesses.

But then the Bush administration went on the offensive. The Pentagon funded an Institute of Medicine study which concluded in March 2002 the anthrax vaccine is safe and effective against all anthrax strains and routes of infection. Its conclusions were based on unpublished research–also funded by the Pentagon.

The story doesn’t stop there. Bioport, the nation’s sole, licensed anthrax vaccine lab has repeatedly failed FDA inspections which found among other things, contamination.

I’d rather have caught a bullet from an AK 47 than gotten injected with this stuff. At least I would have known what my fate would have been.

The FDA cleared BioPort’s manufacturing plant to begin producing the vaccine again in January 2002–months after the letters containing anthrax were sent to Congress and news organizations. Bioport was also allowed to distribute the 500,000 doses of the vaccine already in stock. The vaccine was offered to some postal workers and others who were exposed. But most refused to take it.

Her voters may be too uninformed or willfully blind to see what she and her ilk have done to this formerly beautiful city. Sadly, the nation will be forced to suffer from her policies that reward scofflaws, patronize the poor, create dependency, and are designed to hustle votes.
• Because their lives are so much more precious than ours, the power brokers have their private security and the medical care of their choice. They also have no shame.

My new year’s resolution is to expose the hypocrisy of the morally superior politicians whose election strategy was to pretend they cared about crafting policies in the country’s best interest.

Take “the wall” on our southern border. Ignoring the opinion of the border patrol agents (51 percent of whom are Hispanic) that it would “without a doubt” be a helpful tool, Nancy Pelosi and her people claimed it would be ineffective in stopping everybody. That’s like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stopping its flu vaccination campaign because the vaccine is only 40-60 percent effective.

And sanctuary state California Senator Kamala Harris was quick to the gun control microphone when some people were shot in a brawl but not a peep out of her when a community is in mourning after its brown-skinned legal immigrant policeman is gunned down at a traffic stop by a twice arrested illegal immigrant.

Dear Ms —-: I read your recent online article concerning the CDC/Big Pharma/Big Vaccine/Big Medicine claims – still totally theoretical – that unspecified corporations are hoping to develop a so-called “universal influenza vaccine”.

Your article happens to be just one of many similarly-sourced articles authored by other health journalists around the nation concerning the same topic. Those journalists have probably also been informed (mis-informed?) by similar press releases and pro-industry “scientific” information that has been made available to journalists by profit-motivated multinational corporations that hope that to generate interest in the “next new thing”. Often false hope gets generated. Money can still be made selling snake oil if there is enough slick marketing and the salesperson has a silver tongue.

Big Pharma’s busy propaganda departments may be trying to generate interest in universal influenza vaccines because recent flu shot programs have been worse than useless, and something needs to be done to distract the public from that reality. As your article said, officials acknowledge that this year’s flu shots are another in a string of huge mismatches, but they are still urging that all patients get their useless and potentially toxic flu shots anyway.

800000 Non Essential Employees?

If they are “non-essential” why are we paying for their services?

Just  sayin’.

If we don’t need them….what are they doing on our payroll?

Also bear in mind that we have the better part of a million “non-essential” employees on our payroll at the same time that those responsible for this situation are poor-mouthing about their “National Debt”?

Well, if they have an insurmountable National Debt and 800,000 employees we don’t really need, the answer to the problem seems obvious enough to me as an Employer.

First, make the Pink Slips permanent.

Second, deport the two million or so Bar Attorneys, confiscate their ill-gotten assets, give their homes and retirement accounts to the 800,000 unemployed federal workers, use the rest of the gross largess to pay down the “National Debt” and everyone (except the Bar Attorneys) will go home happy.

Very happy.

Talking about humanitarian crisis and borders and forced immigration — what will the Lord Mayor and the Queen do with two million or so unemployed British Merchant Marine Shipping Clerks when they all come home to roost?

You think Europe has trouble with Muslims? And we have trouble with Mexicans and Hondurans? Just think about two million angry disinherited lawyers hitting the streets and unemployment lines in London?

Makes me smile.

January 08, 2019 “Information Clearing House” –     TruePublica, a British website that has avoided the 9/11 issue, has had its fill of ignorant journalists at the BBC, Huffington Post and other propagandists for the military/security complex. The constant, shrill demeaning of experts and distinguished people who have raised questions about the official story has convinced TruePublica that skeptics who need so much shouting down must have a point.

The media has NEVER EXAMINED the evidence or explained the analysis provided by scientists, architects, engineers, pilots, and the first responders who experienced the explosions of the World Trade Center twin towers. The media has never asked for the release of the multiple videos that recorded whatever struck the Pentagon. The media has never investigated whether cell phones worked in 2001 from the altitudes at which the official story claims calls were made.

Instead two-bit punk presstitutes, such as the BBC’s Chris Bell and the Huffington Post’s Jess Brammer and Chris York, label experts with knowledge and integrity “conspiracy theorists.” These presstitutes knowingly use a cover-up term that the CIA put into use via its media assets to discredit the expert skeptics of the Warren Commission Report on the assassination of President Kennedy.

The fact that the carefully presented evidence is NEVER ENGAGED EXCEPT WITH NAME-CALLING is a strong indication that the evidence is true and cannot be refuted.

It’s official: the “mandatory” GMO labeling rule will obscure more than it makes transparent. Action Alert!

The USDA has released its final GMO labeling rule, and it’s not good. As we feared when the agency released its proposal earlier this year, the so-called GMO labeling law will apply only to a narrow set of foods. Congress and the USDA have offered a number of loopholes and exemptions to food companies, undermining any semblance of a consumer’s right to know. It’s as if the USDA asked the food industry to write the rule themselves.

The problems start right at the foundation. The agency has decided to use the term “bioengineered”—a term many Americans may not be familiar with—rather than GMO. When the proposal was released, we pointed out that this is straight out of an Orwellian playbook. Many Americans know the term “GMO” and can connect it to the labeling debate—so the government decides to use a different term that sounds more innocuous. If the government was actually concerned with communicating information clearly to consumers, they would simply use the term “GMO” and not other terminology with which Americans may not be familiar.

The problems continue with the definition of “bioengineered.” The final rule defines bioengineered as a food that 1) contains genetic material that has been modified through in vitro recombinant deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) techniques and 2) for which the modification could not otherwise be obtained through conventional breeding or found in nature”—essentially, combining DNA from two different sources, usually two different organisms.

(MPN) — Soon after the social media “purge” of independent media sites and pages this past October, a top neoconservative insider — Jamie Fly — was caught stating that the mass deletion of anti-establishment and anti-war pages on Facebook and Twitter was “just the beginning” of a concerted effort by the U.S. government and powerful corporations to silence online dissent within the United States and beyond.

While a few, relatively uneventful months in the online news sphere have come and gone since Fly made this ominous warning, it appears that the neoconservatives and other standard bearers of the military-industrial complex and the U.S. oligarchy are now poised to let loose their latest digital offensive against independent media outlets that seek to expose wrongdoing in both the private and public sectors.

As MintPress News Editor-in-Chief Mnar Muhawesh recently wrote, MintPress was informed that it was under review by an organization called Newsguard Technologies, which described itself to MintPress as simply a “news rating agency” and asked Muhawesh to comment on a series of allegations, several of which were blatantly untrue. However, further examination of this organization reveals that it is funded by and deeply connected to the U.S. government, neo-conservatives, and powerful monied interests, all of whom have been working overtime since the 2016 election to silence dissent to American forever-wars and corporate-led oligarchy.

More troubling still, Newsguard — by virtue of its deep connections to government and Silicon Valley — is lobbying to have its rankings of news sites installed by default on computers in U.S. public libraries, schools, and universities as well as on all smartphones and computers sold in the United States.

In other words, as Newsguard’s project advances, it will soon become almost impossible to avoid this neocon-approved news site’s ranking systems on any technological device sold in the United States. Worse still, if its efforts to quash dissenting voices in the U.S. are successful, Newsguard promises that its next move will be to take its system global.
