“We have no commodity reserves, no grain reserves; no back up supplies to feed the US as this global food shortage grows and food prices skyrocket. Yet this bill, marketed as “food safety”, promoted by hyping food borne illnesses that resulted from the failure of FDA/USDA to operate effectively even on a minimal level, is set to export absolutely every food crop or livestock product out of the country for profit. “

The fake food safety bill S.510 will most likely be rammed through the Senate on Wednesday. While so many of us out here have fought tooth and nail to expose this corporate coup intended to end family and independent agriculture, our own Senate, under the guiding hand of Harry Reid, is set to pass one of the most egregious assaults on the independence and sovereignty of the US in our history. This bill will effectively knock the knees out from under what is left of our crumbling economy, handing it over to multi-national corporations.
Coming from a state whose economy is based in agriculture, built on the backs of family farms, I was sickened to see Senators Klobachur and Franken, sign on as co-sponsors of this bill. Apparently, neither Senator has read the bill, or, if they did, didn’t understand its contents or failed to recognize this theft of food production and supply for the purpose of exporting those supplies, out of the nation. Or, maybe harry Reid just made it clear he could make life in the Senate miserable for them if they didn’t co-operate. Of course, Minnesota is a state that continues to suffer Rep. Colin Peterson who is great with shuckin’ & jivin’ out in public, and who, behind the scenes works against the very people he claims to represent.
While various so-called “consumer organizations” (really just a collection of front groups with pay pal buttons) claim this bill is necessary or that it will somehow magically make our food safer because it establishes police state powers, to be bestowed on several privately held corporations that masquerade as “federal agencies”, most seem to have not actually read the bill, or are incapable of comprehending the underlying problems with it. Far from representing the majority of consumers, these groups are however, sited constantly and held up as some kind of evidence that the public is 100% behind S.510. It’s a staged manipulation, including media blackouts and selective quoting from big name organizations that are financed in large part by government grants.
Why would making our food safer have to include prohibiting our right to due process? Property rights violations? Individual rights violations? Why, in their scramble to try and site some kind of Constitutional authority for this assault on our family and independent producers, was it necessary to insert language about communicable diseases crossing state lines in order to bring the Department of Health and Human Services into it?
Answer: Because this allowed them to claim they are passing the bill under the “general welfare” clause of the Constitution. We saw this same thing happen with the healthcare scam; Pelosi first said it was under the Commerce Clause that they claimed authority and when it was shown that the Commerce Clause could not be applied as the enabling clause of the bill, then had to revert to the “tax clause”. Which is accurate as the healthcare bill is nothing more than a system of taxes, fees, fines, and penalties.
Even MSM is beginning to sound the alarms about the suddenly rising food prices (reported as a 23% jump just this week) and finally acknowledged that the USDA’s fictional report on a bumper grain crop was at best, premature. They failed to mention that USDA had sold off the strategic grain reserve in 2008 and had no intentions of replacing it: everything is sold for export and that USDA issued their projections with the intent of manipulating commodity and grain futures, knowing full well the crop would be in short supply.
Corn, the most valuable crop, is in short supply as 40% is now grown not for food, but for fuel. Add in the floods, storms and the contamination from GMO crops infected with high levels of residual pesticides and herbicides, and what is available for food most likely isn’t fit to eat.
In S.510 the fake food safety bill, exports will trump any food needs of the nation. In each and every illegal trade agreement, harmonization agreement, or other unlawful entry into agreements with multi-national organizations, corporations and foreign interests, which S.510 explicitly says we must adhere to, the rights of the corporation are held above those of the individual. In other words; If more profit can be made by selling our food supplies to another country, we can be left with little or nothing. The right to profit for bio-pirates is far more important than whether we, as a nation, can feed our people.
We have no commodity reserves, no grain reserves; no back up supplies to feed the US as this global food shortage grows and food prices skyrocket. Yet this bill, marketed as “food safety”, promoted by hyping food borne illnesses that resulted from the failure of FDA/USDA to operate effectively even on a minimal level, is set to export absolutely every food crop or livestock product out of the country for profit.
We have a senate ready to pass the greatest weaponless assault on America under the fiction of “food safety”. We are being steered into complete economic collapse but we are supposed to believe that it was accidental…out of their control. We have been sold out, sold off and betrayed.
Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the District of Criminals as corporations line up to receive their gifts! « Truth2Freedom's Blog

First of all let me say this is a very well written article…I appreciate you for putting this out here as I get most of my information these days from the net.
This is unbelievable…but I know it’s true. I am and will continue to be, an activist in defense of the defenseless. It seems like we are living in Orwellian times and it is getting completely out of control.
Today I call my senators and congressmen and let them know what I think of this bill…
Thank you again, and keep up the good work.

Thanks for the memories…
….as a dedicated, which now has come completely to mean ‘outlaw’, family farmer, I thank the people who cared and the few who seem to still care, but farming has become a nearly impossible burden for a man and his family….
…I really don’t expect to be able to: a) provide for us and b) stay out of the state prison system; for very much longer.
Thanks for the memories.
Everything else is just about used up, finished.

I am among the many who contacted those purporting to represent me in the District of Criminals, strenuously urging that S.510 be killed quickly. I stated the numerous reasons. I doubt they care for any of us “little people”. I expect they will continue to cater to corporatists.
