One does not have to be a prophet to know that we are on the precipice of some potentially catastrophic–or at the very least, challenging–days. In fact, most of us are already in challenging days, and some are already enduring catastrophic events. That is, if one would call being out of work, losing one’s home, facing life-threatening medical conditions without any prospect of medical insurance, several families being forced to live in one house due to homes being foreclosed, etc., catastrophic.

 

The potential for an escalation of cataclysmic events, however, is very real. Only a “blooming idiot” would call someone who attempts to prepare for “the day of adversity” a Chicken Little now. Anyone who does not see the storm clouds on the horizon isn’t paying attention.

For example, can one imagine what would happen if terrorists nuked a major American city or cities? (Once again, I encourage readers to go get the videos of the CBS TV series “Jericho” to get an idea of how quickly life, and even civilization, could change.) Imagine if there was another 9/11-type event. What would happen if some form of Zimbabwe-style inflation hit the US? What would happen if anything disrupted the distribution of Welfare checks, or food to local grocers? Imagine a Hurricane Katrina-style natural disaster in your town. I think people everywhere are beginning to awaken to just how vulnerable we all really are.

As a result, people from virtually every walk of life have recently been asking my thoughts on how they should prepare. Therefore, I will attempt to share with my readers some of the counsel I have given these folks. READ MORE

Washington quietly mulls new quarantine regulations – do you have enough food stored?

The Obama administration is quietly dusting off an effort to impose new federal quarantine regulations, which were vigorously resisted by civil liberties organizations and the airline industry when the rules were first proposed by the Bush administration nearly four years ago. 

White House officials aren’t saying what their rules might ultimately require. But the previous administration proposed giving the federal government the authority to order a “provisional quarantine” of three business days — or up to six calendar days — for those suspected of having swine flu or other illnesses listed in a presidential executive order.

The Baltic Dry Index and Empty Store Shelves

What is the Baltic Dry Index, and what does it mean to the economy? Here is a good definition from Wikinvest.com:

The BDI is one of the purest leading indicators of economic activity. It measures the demand to move raw materials and precursors to production, as well as the supply of ships available to move this cargo. Consumer spending and other economic indicators are backward looking, meaning they examine what has already occurred. The BDI offers a real time glimpse at global raw material and infrastructure demand. Unlike stock and commodities markets, the Baltic Dry Index is totally devoid of speculative players. The trading is limited only to the member companies, and the only relevant parties securing contracts are those who have actual cargo to move and those who have the ships to move it.

This is a pretty important indicator, since it is forward-looking. In other words, companies plan what they will need, and book the ships to deliver the purchased goods. If they do not have anything to produce, they do not book the ships.

Take a look at the following video and judge for yourselves if we should be concerned. I don’t know about you, but I will be stocking up on as many things as I can. Here are some suggestions:

1. Start growing some food and learn how to can and dry it. It is not difficult. If a dummy like me can do it, you can too! I dry veggies by laying them on a rack on my counter under the ceiling fan.

2. Start collecting extras of things that you use every day. If you normally buy one toothbrush, get two or three – and don’t forget the toilet paper!

3. Get some good rodent-proof containers and store extra grain, flour, dried fruits and veggies, jerky, and other foodstuffs.

This list is by no means comprehensive, and is only meant to get the ball rolling. Make a list of things you use a lot of and stock up! If the Baltic Dry Index, or BDI, is our best economic indicator, then we are in for hard times ahead! Here is the video from The Green Dragon:

It seems most people are aware of the coming disaster which is in the final stages.  you can choose to prepare yourself and your family……..

If this forecast holds true, and a major portion of our states file bankruptcy, there will be widespread panic, our state funded services and programs will be closed down immediately, and confusion amongst political leadership and the citizenry.

Not long after the states file bankruptcy, could we see martial law declared by the President of the United States, as a means to bring order and peace. Those who are not willing to comply with the mandates of the martial law will be hauled off to FEMA camps and military bases throughout the United States.

How can you prepare for this economic collapse now?

Food

• Begin stocking up your cabinets, pantries, and closets with non-perishable food items.
• Purchase a portable camping stove in case your home’s electricity is shut off.
• Start consuming a healthier diet so your body isn’t dependent on the processed and junk foods we’ve grown accustom to.
• If your have the space in your yard, plant and grow a garden.
• Stock up on vitamins and necessary supplements to ensure you stay healthy in the next Great Depression.

Household

• Discuss emergency plans with your family, roommates, friends, and/or loved ones.
• Store a stockpile of hygiene items including deodorant, toothpaste, towels, washcloths, and toilet paper.
• Make sure you have a hefty reserve of bottled water on hand, stored in a safe place.
• Keep extra pillows, sheets, and blankets in your closets.
• Have at least one shotgun, rifle, or handgun, if not more.
• Ensure you have enough ammunition to defend yourself, your household, and your loved ones in emergency situations.

Community

• Get to know your neighbors.
• Know who you can and cannot trust in your local community.
• Gather together with like-minded individuals in your community, choose designated methods of contact, and choose a few leaders.
• Pick a safe house, where your community coalition will go in emergency situations.
• Pick two alternative safe houses, in case the primary safe house becomes compromised.
• In times of peace, continue to make your community aware of political, social, and economic dangers.

Money

• Save paper and coin money in a safe place in your house.
• Invest in a small or medium size safe to store your money and other valuables.
• Slowly begin withdrawing from your savings and investment accounts on a regular basis. Store this money in a safe location.
• If you can purchase gold, buy it. Gold retains the same value no matter how low or high the currency markets go.
• Stop paying taxes to save money and force government leaders to listen to the citizenry, the people who put them in office.

I’m Back!

Water Restoration Act is anything But…

The Water Restoration Act of 2007, brought to you by Jim Oberstar of Minnesota, along with others, gives the federal government complete control over every waterway, river, stream, lake, aquifer, creek, slew, swamp, underground spring and even the rain that runs off your roof.  Why?  Well to better protect you from polluters and to ensure water safety, and of course “national security”. 

 

Here’s the real deal.  Oil which has been deemed the worlds most valuable commodity (remember that word) is quickly being replaced by water.  Water is the new “gold”.  Under the Public Trust doctrine, the government is prohibited from converting something such as water (a human right…we can’t live without it) to a commodity.  It must remain in a public trust, meaning that it is so important to our survival that it should never be subjected to markets, trading or private interests.  In other words, it should never be reclassified as a commodity.  But this Act lays the groundwork for removing from the Public Trust this basic human right which is a necessity, and will facilitate it being reclassified a “needed commodity”.  Enter the multi-national corporations. 

 

What is under way is the effort to classify water as a commodity and not a right. All of this actually started with NAFTA and then CAFTA.  Both agreements, which are not enforceable as they are both unconstitutional have been parts of a puzzle that until recently seemed not to make any sense at all.  Both are focused on giving multinational corporations the right to lay claim to food production whether it is agriculture or animal ranching, to force out family farms, to patent their new “frankenseeds” and put the resulting GMO food on our grocery shelves without labeling the foods as altered.

 

The corporations can now sue the government (and have) if it acts in any way to prevent it from making profits it believes it is entitled to.  This ability to sue for impaired profit making can be the result of environmental regulations, of Federal laws which may prevent the corporations from hiring illegal workers, or issues of eminent domain in which an individuals’ land stands in the way of corporate profiteering and the courts have not acted to protect the interests of the corporation.  The corporation then claims “trade illegal” provisions of NAFTA and CAFTA and our federal laws and regulations are put aside, along with property rights.

 

All that was left to capture from the public was the water supply.  CAFTA goes a long way in establishing the privatization of water supplies, including in-land navigated waters and the right to use and access the water supplies.

 

If the federal government is not able to gain total control of all water from whatever source, it is highly unlikely that water can be taken from the status of Public Trust and moved to one of a commodity, which is exactly what the Water Restoration Act of 2007 will enable. 

 

If CAFTA protections and provisions for corporations and the provisions within CAFTA that put the rights of investors above those of the individual, or human rights, cannot come into play, it will be nearly impossible to expose our water supply to global markets. CAFTA’s primary aim is to protect and promote investors regardless of the cost to individuals or communities. 

 

Water is not only a basic human right, but also a natural resource.  Inland states like Minnesota have Public Trust Laws (in addition to federal doctrine) which maintain the use of waterways for drinking and for recreation purposes.  Every lake here has public water access due to the Public Trust which everyone contributes to in one way or another.  No one can claim land at the bottom of a lake……its commonly held.  No one can claim private ownership of lake fish stocks, or other natural resources resulting from the lake’s existence.  This applies to rivers also, including the Mississippi which runs through the state.

 

The Water Restoration Act of 2007 would federalize all inland and coastal waters from any source.  This act is needed to set the stage for the privatization guaranteed to corporations under CAFTA and would effectively convert the entire water supply from any source into a commodity. 

 

As it is, any corporate agriculture business operating in any area is allowed to bypass water treatment plants, sewage treatment and the associated costs and to tap directly into underground aquifers even at the cost of depleting the water supply to the surrounding communities.  GMO seeds, especially “traitor” seeds require as much as three times the normal amount of water to activate and to grow, but any efforts to limit use or regulate disposal even by monetary assessment have been unsuccessful.  The corporate rights now exceed that of the individual or community.  CAFTA clearly states repeatedly that “investor protections” must be a priority.

 

Using the NAFTA provisions, along with even more detrimental CAFTA provisions, the World Bank along with the United Nations are active in the effort to convert the worlds’ water supply into a commodity to be controlled by private investors via global trade and investment agreements.  If these efforts are successful, water will no longer be a community or individual right and resource necessary to maintain life, but a globally traded commodity subject to markets and your ability to pay.

 

The World Trade organization in collusion with provisions of NAFTA,  have been instrumental in converting water into a tradable commodity and as such subject to international trade policies which favor no one but the giant corporations.  In each instance of corporations attempting to overturn domestic environmental laws or regulations, the laws have been rendered null using the “trade illegal” provisions of both NAFTA and CAFTA which declare that the right of the corporation cannot be superseded or infringed upon by laws or regulations that hinder the amount of profit they estimate can be attained.

 

The World Bank already has established a system whereby credit or loans will not be issued to Third World countries and even less stressed countries, unless they agree to allow foreign investors access to privatize the water supply.  In Bolivia this resulted in mass demonstrations that finally forced out a subsidiary of Bechtel that had privatized the water supply, increased costs three-fold minimally, dispensed with upkeep and left ¼ of the rural homes without access to water. 

 

England has privatized their water system and costs rose 45% overnight, all but skeleton crews remained of the maintenance sector and the quality of water has dropped significantly. 

 

In one Canadian town several people became ill and one died from an ecoli contamination in the water supply.  This occurred after the supply had been privatized, and the owner of the water supply knew of the contamination.  The public was never notified until after people became ill.

 

In March of 2000 at the Hague, a meeting occurred where water executives stated that as long as water was coming out of the tap the public had no right to any information as to how it got there….. Or its quality.

Here in the States, private investors have in some places succeeded in taking over community water supplies, in other places the communities have fought back against the sale of publicly held supplies realizing that this most important element of human survival should never be under the control of private corporations whose one and only duty is to make a profit for investors. 

 

As water has historically been deemed a human right and necessity, so much so that the Public Trust Doctrine was put on paper, how could anyone in good conscience believe water is, or promote water as, a tradable commodity?  How can there be so many callous and greedy individuals running around out there who would willingly see another human  thirst to death just so they can make a buck?  Apparently there are many.  

 

The Water Restoration Act 2007 relies heavily on promotion based on protecting the water supply from pollution, from terrorists, and of course “national security”.  The truth is it has nothing to do with any of these things.  The WRA will allow unfettered pollution with no recourse for communities or individuals and “trade illegal” treatment of local and state laws.  Before the entire water supply can be sold off to private interests the federal government must gain control of the entire water system. This is what the WRA will do.

 

This Act would be more aptly titled “The Water Confiscation Act” as this is exactly what is intended.  All it is set to do is to strike down the Public Trust Doctrine and facilitate the conversion of water from a basic human right into a commodity.  The only threat to “national security” here is from the government and the massive corporations who are behind it. 

 

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised by any of this.  After all, the Security & Prosperity Partnership refers to people as “human capital”.  I wonder how long it will be before they refer to us as a “needed commodity” and trade and sell us on the global market.

 

Control the food, control the water and you control the people.   I believe it was Henry Kissinger who first made this observation when speaking about the importance of depopulation through the use of eugenics.  Obviously good old Henry realized that overtaking the food and water supplies would go a long way in deciding who had a right to life.

The Born Again Conspiracy

In a previous article titled In Bed Together, I explained a scientific theory that espouses “out of chaos comes order,” and its possible role in the creation of the NWO. That is the scientific theory, but have you wondered why leaders claiming to be religious Christians have no problem grabbing the wealth and appear to have no regard for the abject misery caused by their single-minded pursuit of glory on the road to Armageddon? I have, and I would now like to explore the question – what does Christianity have to do with it?

First, let us postulate that most people would like to improve their circumstances, and in effect, are vying for some type of perfection in their lives. Let us also postulate that the elites that rule us are also in a quest for perfection, and since they have a whole lot of money, are in a position to do something about it in a rather big way.

The Federal Government, CIA, and the Clean Slate Theory

If we look at the CIA training manuals “KUBARK Counterintelligence Interrogation,” July 1963, “Human Resource Exploitation Training Manual,” 1983, and the MK Ultra mind control experiments from which many of the CIA’s methods were taken, we realize that in their quest for control, the ruling elites that own our Federal government and funded the MK Ultra experiments, found that a clean slate is desirable from which to start re-programming the human personality. This clean slate is supposedly necessary because it exists without the excess baggage of previous experiences, traditions, or morals. It is the state of complete openness, devoid of previous writing, and completely receptive. It is the ideal place to write the new personality. The rules for producing this clean slate, whether applied to a person or institution, are not based on morality or fairness, but on the premise that if a few eggs are broken in the process, there are always more to be had.

There is one major problem with the clean slate theory however, and that is, erasing the slate and making it completely clean has proven to be quite tricky – in fact, impossible. The only way that man has attempted to erase the slate is through destruction by some form of violence, and this destruction has not succeeded in wiping any slate clean, but has only resulted in a lot of broken pieces that will not be able to be put back together again; at least not by man.

Christianity, Corruption, and the Clean Slate Theory

The Federal government licenses churches as corporations. The things you need to start a Federally recognized church are Articles of Incorporation, and a Federal Employer ID or F.E.I.N., Bylaws, and an IRS 501c3 Tax Exemption. To keep this tax-exempt status, the church corporation needs to play by Federal and state rules. If it doesn’t, its tax-exempt status can be revoked. This is a huge incentive to follow Federal and state mandates when it comes to church doctrine, rather than follow the actual words of the Bible. A church can have most any type of belief structure, and as long as it abides by Federal rules, it maintains is status.

This means that any Federally licensed religion is inherently corrupt because the rules of the Federal government, and state laws pre-empt Biblical laws. Therefore, even if you believe the Bible to be the Word of God, you had better make sure that you obey the laws of the land first and foremost, and place the Word of God in subordination to them, or lose your status. This is the corporate church.

Now, let’s look at organized religion in the form of Christianity. Christianity is also based on the “clean slate” theory. When one is “saved,” his/her slate is said to be “wiped clean.” There are church officials such as pastors, bishops, or priests that attempt to stand as mediators between the individual and his/her Creator, and profess the authority, which they do not have, to declare a person “saved,” or “born again” with a clean slate. If one reads the Bible in its entirety, he/she will discover that these so-called mediators not only have no divine authority to wipe a person’s slate clean, but have no clue as to how it is done. Only the Almighty Himself has that authority, or even knows what to do and how to do it. Therefore, any authority that these “mediators” assume they have in the area of salvation and wiping one’s slate clean is actually derived from the ordination they have received from the Federally licensed corporate church whose articles of incorporation they have pledged to uphold. Since the Federal and state laws trump Biblical law in these organizations, the corporate church’s ultimate authority stems from the Federal government and not the Almighty. Therefore, we have another case of man trying to create a clean slate on his own, and as we have seen previously, there is a major problem with the clean slate theory. Man cannot create a clean slate on his own. When he tries, he leaves a lot of broken pieces around that he cannot put back together.

Okay, let us say that a person receives a “born again” experience outside of church doctrine with no help from an “ordained minister” of the church. Even if the “born again” person has had an actual epiphany in spite of the pastor, bishop, or priest, he/she will still be the same person with the same faults as before the “born again” experience. Now the real work begins. The “truly saved” person will work on him/herself for the better, through a long process of self-reflection and prayer, and in time, the pieces of his/her life can be put together in a more perfect form with the help of the Almighty. It is not an instantaneous transformation, and the slate is not immediately wiped clean. A person must examine his/her life and determine what portions of it are acceptable and what portions are not. The things that are not acceptable are identified and a path is laid so that person can get rid of them if he/she wants to. Wiping the slate clean is a process that takes a lifetime, and cannot be done for you by a pastor, bishop, or priest.

However, if that person has not had an epiphany, then he/she has not been “truly saved,” and is either deceived and truly believes that one man has the power to “save” another and create a clean slate, and is in fact relying on church doctrine, which is subordinate to Federal and state law, for “salvation,” or he/she really knows something is amiss, but decides to just fake it in order to be accepted by the Church. Ultimately, what this person is left with is a bunch of broken pieces and no clue as to how to put them back together again.

Armageddon and the Clean Slate Theory

According to the Bible, Armageddon is the destruction that precipitates a clean slate for the new world – a new Jerusalem, in a Garden of Eden-type state.

The following quote is taken from Televangelist Jack Van Impe’s “Question of the Week” concerning Bush’s role in the end times battle of Armageddon, that appears in an article at http://www.rense.com/general31/arma.htm titled “Bush Primed By Evangelicals For Armageddon Scenario:

Question: “Do you think President Bush, a Christian man, believes or knows he’s involved with prophetic events concerning the Middle East and the final battle between good and evil?”

Answer: “First of all, Billy Graham led George W. Bush Jr. to the Lord Jesus Christ when he visited the White House. President Bush has attended many of Billy Graham’s crusades and during those crusades, Billy Graham always preaches once or twice on Christ’s return and all the prophetical signs…

So, yes, I think George W. knows that he’s destined for this final hour in prophetic history.”

If you have indeed received revelation and are truly in touch with the Almighty, then you will understand that He is in control, and it is not your duty to attempt to change the world. He is fully capable of doing that. It is your responsibility to work on changing yourself, do what is right, and thus become an example for others. However, if you are either faking it or believe that man can save man, and think your slate has actually been wiped clean because you have been “born again,” what is to stop you from believing that the whole world’s slate needs to be wiped clean, and it is your duty to participate in the world’s salvation? After all, if you believe that you have been instantaneously “reborn” through the efforts of a corrupt earthly mediator, why wouldn’t the same theory apply to the entire world? Conversion of the non-believer is a key concept in corporate religion, and church history tells us that if conversion is not voluntary, forced conversion will do. Therefore, attempting to force Armageddon on the world to convert it and create a clean slate so that it may be reborn as the New Jerusalem is not a far reach for loyal converts.

Corruption Begets Corruption

As we have discussed earlier, it is the Federal and state laws that are the ultimate authority in Federally licensed religions. And who owns the Federal government? The corporate elites. This is our corporate government. So, who creates the final doctrine for the Federally licensed Christian church? That’s right, the rich and powerful. And what do these people like to do? They like to create programs such as MK Ultra that focus on controlling the masses, and somehow I do not think the corporate church is exempt from this penchant for manipulation. In fact, the church is a very effective tool for controlling people.

So, if the rich and powerful create the doctrines for corporate religion in order to indoctrinate and control the masses, where do they believe their authority comes from? What if they actually believe that they have the divine right to rule based solely on their privileged status?

The Divine Right to Rule

Let’s discuss divine right. What if you believe that you are a child of God and therefore possess the divine, or God-given right to rule, and that is why you are so rich and powerful? What if you think that the ultimate sign of your worthiness to rule others is the wealth and power you have been “blessed” with? What if you believe that all of your sins have been washed clean, and you have become a new person instantly – no stirring required? What if you believe that in the name of your God, you can do no wrong? What if, in your arrogance brought about by excessive power and material wealth, and with your belief in divine right, you think it is your God-given duty to bring about a clean slate for the world through Armageddon, and expect a New World Order to rise out of the ashes of chaos? Your “New Jerusalem.” What if you have the position and power, and end up killing thousands upon thousands of people in the name of your God, while setting up your own version of the New Jerusalem, because you believe you have the divine right to do so, and/or are required to do so by the dictates of your religion? What if there are enough of you, with enough power and money, fueled by the same desire, to pull it off right under the noses of the common people, and actually glean their support? What if this New World Order is a horrible experiment that involves man acting as God?

If the elites are trying to create a man-made Armageddon in which to wipe the earth’s slate clean so that they can create their own “New Jerusalem” because they think it is their God-given duty, we are in for serious times ahead. As we have discussed earlier, by trying to wipe the slate clean, man just leaves piles of rubble around and has no clue how to put Humpty Dumpty back together again after the fall. The rich just glean the spoils from the rubble because they believe it is their God-given right to do so, and the rest of us try to survive while digging our way out of the rubbish or die. Those of us who do survive will need to learn some really good survival skills, and fast.

If by acting as Gods, and attempting to force a manufactured Armageddon on the world to create a clean slate for a New World Order, their version of the New Jerusalem, it would seem that these global elites are taking arrogance to a new level. If you believe in a religion of your own creation that by its very nature is corrupt, anything goes.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is, we were not put here to control others. We are here to learn how to become better human beings. None of the corporate elites or their lackeys has the divine right to rule anyone. This includes G.W. Bush, the Rockefellers, Bill Gates, the Pope, the King of Saudi Arabia, the Shah of Iran, the government of Israel, Hamas, the Christian church, or any other person or organization that derives its life from the blood of others.

If you belong to any organization, including a corporate religion that takes its authority from the Federal government, then your organization is corrupt, and you had better start examining your conscience because anything goes. If you do not take a good, hard look at what you stand for and decide to stand up for what is right, and not what the Federal government or the corporate church tells you is right, then you’ve chosen the dark side and you just might end up becoming President!

What’s Next?

It is time for reflection, and devising a plan to become more self-sufficient by weaning ourselves off the corporate teat, whether that is corporate religion, corporate food, or anything else directed and owned by the corporate elite. If we are indeed at the beginning of a depression caused by these so-called “divinely appointed saviors” who are attempting to throw the world into chaos by a man-made Armageddon, then self-sufficiency and localization of food sources will become necessary to survive.

I believe that if we are to improve our circumstances, instead of bowing and scraping to the corporate elite who consider themselves divinely appointed to rule the rest of us, we need to start sharing information with others of like mind. This sharing will hopefully lead to a brighter future where people reach out to each other and form small communities in which food is grown locally, and trade is established between neighbors.

Book Review: Re-inventing Collapse, The Soviet Example And American Prospects, By Dmitry Orlov

The old normal is that life will go on just like before. The new normal is that nothing will ever be the same Rather than attempting to undertake the Herculean task of mitigating the unmitigatable-attempting to stop the world and point it in a different direction-it seems far better to turn inward and work to transform yourself into someone who might stand a chance, given the world’s assumed trajectory. Much of this transformation is psychological and involves letting go of many notions that we have been conditioned to accept unquestioningly. Some if it involves acquiring new skills and a different set of habits. A FEMA Camp Called Home

Why would sane people willingly go to one of the numerous FEMA camps that exist across the U.S.? Answer: Because they are starving, have lost their homes, have no employment prospects, and literally have nowhere else to go.

The emphasis in the news of late on the Police State that is coming our way outlines the brutality that the “authorities” are using and are about to use on we the people, who are not of the “elite” class. Rounding people up to take them to FEMA camps is one scenario, and one that I believe is not unreasonable. However, I would like to step out of the box for a minute and take a look at the situation from another perspective.

Let’s look at New Orleans. One of the main disasters in New Orleans was the water. Another was the herding of people who had literally no place to go into detention facilities; excuse me, places of refuge. When they got there, these people were treated like rabble, then dispersed. People are still looking for dispersed family members that are who knows where. The poorer people literally gave up their freedom because they did not know what else to do. They had no homes, they were on the verge of drowning, starvation was looming, and the water was not fit to drink. Prime candidates for a FEMA camp; excuse me, place of refuge, experiment.

Now, let’s expand this picture to the coming depression. It is not over-the-top to look a bit into the future by looking into the past. It is 1929, and people are jumping out of windows. It is now 2008, or thereabouts, and people who have lost everything and do not know how to survive are running to the FEMA camps; excuse me, places of refuge, for food, shelter, and security.

The “authorities” do not even have to deploy force to a population that goes where it is supposed to willingly. With so many of us, which is the best method of operation? Yup, getting them to go willingly. By creating a situation that leads them to the right conclusions, you have your ready and waiting FEMA camps; excuse me, places of refuge, filled to the gills. The only thing required to start the process is a big enough catastrophe. Is a financial meltdown big enough? Just ask the poor people in New Orleans who were left with nothing when the water poured through town. They’ll tell you.
