S.3217 Restoring American Financial Stability Act: also known as the “Buggering America One More Time Act”

“I guess, Henry Waxman was the only person to discover this close tie between financial reform and dietary supplements.  Who would have imagined such a thing?  Guess that’s why he’s a Representative; he can divine the deep connections between corrupt financial institutions and your right to use and purchase dietary supplements to help offset the toxic effects of gmo food, chemicals, additives, pesticides and herbicides that have contaminated what was once nutritional food sources.”

Contrary to the news flying around that Codex Alimentarius with regards to vitamins and supplements is dead: it is not.  In the usual fashion of all things slimy and slippery in the District of Criminals, the bill originally promoted by Sen. John McCain (R):S.3002 The Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA) of 2010 A bill, to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to more effectively regulate dietary supplements that may pose safety risks unknown to consumers”, quickly became another mill stone around the Senators’ neck as the public backlash on this one was massive. 

Apparently the Senator was unaware that unlike toxic pharmaceuticals routinely approved by the FDA as safe and effective (if you consider possible death, stroke, heart attack, blood clots, etc., ) as an acceptable side affect, dietary supplements and nutritional aids have no such history.   In fact, those manufacturers of nutritional supplements would not consider death as a result of the use of their products as simply “collateral damage” to be expected in pursuit of mega profits.

The Senator quickly withdrew the bill, but that wasn’t the end of it.

Off it went to the committee that is supposed to be writing or re-writing or whatever it is they do while their stakeholders (campaign donors, big corps, lobbyists) write or re-arrange the language in the bills to make sure Corporation (X) makes kabillions in profits and at the same making sure they are totally unaccountable or liable for whatever toxic poisons they dump on the American public.  That committee is the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee whose members can be viewed here on the right side of the page.

Financial reform includes another attack on your right to vitamins….no joke!

First, John McCain introduced a bill that would severely damage the vitamin industry.

Thanks to you, the bill was killed!

Then, its key provisions were inserted into the Food Safety bill.

But then, again thanks to you, these provisions were pulled.

Now, the Alliance for Natural Health tells us these provisions might become law in the worst possible way. Unless you act, the financial “reform” bill could give new powers to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), including the power to regulate food supplements — perhaps regulate supplements right out of existence.

DownsizeDC.org proposes the Write the Laws Act (WTLA) to prevent outrages like this. Congress must NOT delegate their legislative power to unelected bureaucrats.

These agencies must not be allowed to thwart the will of the people!

Please tell Congress to oppose any amendment to Chris Dodd’s financial “regulation” bill that will empower the FTC. Tell them to introduce the Write the Laws Act instead.
