According to the American Institute of Philanthropy, HSUS has not opened it's books for inspection. (http://www.charitywatch.org/azlist.html#h)

Whilst the above is interesting, perhaps perusal of the 2006 - 110 page pdf Tax Return would be enlightening:

In conclusion:

Received Support of $91.5 Million (Page 1):

Lobbying (Page 17)?: $4.1 Million

Actual Grants/Allocations (Page 75): $6.5 Million

The ability to suggest that Michael Vick's rescued dogs: (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/01/sports/football/01vick.html?_r=1)

be put down after raising money using one of their furry little faces: (http://www.consumerfreedom.com/images/hsus_clip.png)

...and then having the unmitigated gall to file the 2006 Tax Return 13 days later....

Well that's just Priceless.

I work for the HSUS and would like to point out that the website ActivistCash.com is maintained by the Center for Consumer Freedom, an industry front group for tobacco, alcohol, and agribusiness interests that was started with a $600,000 grant from tobacco giant Philip Morris. The group’s stock-in-trade involves taking aim at organizations that promote food safety, public health, or animal welfare.

The HSUS is not a parent organization to local shelters, although we provide a number of resources to the animal care & control community. Our organization was founded to tackle national animal cruelty issues such as dogfighting and puppy mills that are too large for individual shelters to effectively combat.

We've consistently received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, and our annual reports are available on our website, www.humanesociety.org.

You seem to be a bit confused. I am a writer and author, not a computer repair technician. This being the case, I do not have the knowledge or expertise to help you.

Yes, Peter, tell us more. What do you mean "nobody was able to read a paper?" Do you mean access to newspapers was somehow denied, or are you saying everyone's ability to read was somehow impaired?
